Knowing the Father and the Son

John 17:3

Jesus does not define eternal life as endless duration first. He defines it as knowing the Father, and the Son He sent. Theology that never becomes knowledge of God is only a catalog.

One God, three persons

Christians did not invent the Trinity to make the Bible harder. We say it because the Bible will not let us say less. There is one God. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Spirit is God. They are not three gods, and they are not one person wearing three masks.

Matthew 28:19 baptizes into the name (one) of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost (three).

John 1:1: the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Then John 1:14: that Word became flesh. That is the Incarnation.

Why this matters for the rest of the site
