Minor lesson
Faith
Faith in God is trust in someone outside our experience. It is more than what religious people say they believe.

is hard to describe. Faith in God is outside our normal comprehension, because it is outside our experience.
People often treat it as what religious people believe. It is more than that.
Think of a friend. You say, I need you at this place at this time. Faith is knowing he will be there. You trust him with that.
Hebrews 11:1 says it well:
Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.
Faith in God is on another level. He cannot have an accident, forget, or be late in traffic. The assurance is beyond anything a friend can give.
Not Blind Faith
People often confuse religious faith with blind faith. In some religions, that is fair. It is not true of the Christian God. Other lessons on this site go further into that.
God does not demand blind faith. Paul says the evidence is already in the creation:
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.
The evidence is all around us. We have to be willing to look. He is not asking for faith with our eyes shut. We can put real faith in Him.
